Van Sederburg

Q. What is your professional background? Where do you work, and what is/was your role there?
A. I retired in 2025, but used to be a computer programmer and/or database administrator for various telecom, medical and retail companies.
Q. How it began: How long have you been off-roading? What drew you to the sport?
A. Oddly enough, I think riding motorcycles drew me to jeeps, because I like vehicles you can customize to whatever extent you like, and to me, jeeps are pretty much the Harley Davidsons of the automotive world. I got into off-roading (barely) because I like getting off the beaten path to explore or camp. I’ll probably never be a hard-core rock-crawler, but who knows?
Q. Passions and Interests: What are your passions and interests related to the club’s activities? What motivated you to join the board?
A. I like to give back to whatever group I belong to, and with my technical background, the technology director position was the best fit. Plus, it gives me a reason to keep all this computer hardware in my home office up and running!
Q. Vision: What is your vision for the club’s future? How do you hope to contribute to its growth and success during your tenure on the board?
A. I think the club is doing great right now, so I’d just like it to continue to grow and provide events for all levels of off-road interest.
Q. Community Involvement: Are you involved in any other community organizations or initiatives that align with the club’s values?
A. Nope
Just for Fun
Q. If you had a superpower for a day, what would it be, and how would you use it?
A. The ability to reflect the pain people cause others, back on themselves.
Q. If you were a flavor of ice cream, what would you be and why?
A. Chocolate – because if I’m not my favorite flavor, what’s the point?
Q. If you were a fruit, what would you be?
A. Probably an Orange. It has a thick skin, but if you dig far enough you find it’s pretty sweet inside.
